$50

2nd Prize

Your Murder Mystery will be produced by TFAA in this or an upcoming season!

Script Guidelines

  • It should include reference to or action on the NYC subway system to match our theme for the year.
  • Have FUN! Absurd alibis? Mad motives? Droll deaths? Yes, please!
  • Approximately 30–60 minutes total running time.
  • Approximately 10–20 pages for outlines/largely improvised works, and more pages for a full script.
  • Split into at least 3 scenes: an introduction, a conclusion, with action in between — actors in our Murder Mysteries are improvisors, so details can be left up to them or the directing team, but the story should make sense from beginning to end.
  • The more audience participation the better!
  • Rated PG-13, please! Older kids love to come to our shows with their families.
Theme reminder: Your script should reference or take place on the NYC subway system — think mysterious strangers, underground tunnels, missed stops, and late-night trains!
