The acronym TFAA stands for the Tiffin Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, an organization with the mission of elevating Tiffin as a center of artistic innovation and excellence.
At our core, we strive to empower artists with limitless prospects and tools that will nourish their imaginative development. Through our dedication to preserving and showcasing the beauty of fine arts, our aim is to broaden cultural knowledge and inspire active participation within communities.
Although both the Tiffin Municipal Arts Commission (TMAC) and the Tiffin Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts share a common goal of promoting the arts in Tiffin, they are separate organizations. TMAC is a government committee created to provide artistic opportunities for the Tiffin community, while TFAA is a private 501(c)3 foundation that aims to advance the arts in Seneca county and beyond. Despite their distinct roles, the two organizations work together on collaborative projects and fundraising initiatives. TFAA also hosts independent events with the objective of making Tiffin a center for artistic excellence. TFAA has even created designated funds within the Foundation to provide support to specific projects that are in line with their core mission. While they have different strengths, both organizations work closely to serve Tiffin's community and foster a vibrant arts culture.
The arts hold immense value as they possess the ability to enrich lives and uplift society. They are ubiquitous and wield a subtle yet powerful influence, permeating music, movies, paintings, theatre, literature, architecture, landscaping, interior and web design, and any other medium that exudes truth and beauty. TFAA aims to leverage this potential for creativity and self-discovery, with the understanding that artistic expression should be accessible to all, regardless of their background or circumstances. We recognize that while some may choose to pursue art as a profession, many more simply engage in it for the joy and fulfillment it brings. At TFAA, we strive to provide artistic opportunities and foster an appreciation for the arts, with the belief that each individual can benefit from cultivating their creative spirit.
If you are interested in supporting TFAA, there are several ways you can donate. Collaborating with others who share your passion enables you to amplify the effect of even a small donation. Every contribution, no matter the amount, can make a positive impact and is valued greatly. So, how can you assist TFAA? Explore the various options for donating and consider joining forces with like-minded individuals to make a meaningful difference.
The utilization of donation funds within TFAA and TMAC is multifaceted and dependent on the specific project to which the donation is made, or whether it is a general fund donation. Should one choose to make a general donation, it will be allocated to the general operation fund for TFAA, unless it is otherwise specified for a particular project or for TMAC maintenance. It is important to note that TMAC funds are kept separately for the purpose of projects, as well as for the maintenance and upkeep of TMAC installations.

TFAA ensures active community participation in their public art programs by recognizing the crucial role that collaboration with the local community plays in achieving successful outcomes. To aid in fostering this collaboration, the organization provides various tools and resources designed to facilitate deeper community engagement and empower community members to advocate for the program. As part of the commissioning process, TFAA recommends organizing educational presentations and workshops on public art, showcasing artwork examples from other communities and presenting project details. These initiatives aim to inform and engage community members, and to ensure that commissioned art projects align with their needs and preferences. Additionally, Visioning workshops or "charrettes" may be useful in further strengthening community involvement and providing valuable insights for program implementation.
The TFAA foundation is managed by an Executive Director and a diverse board of directors comprised of members from the Tiffin Municipal Arts Commission and community members with varied professional backgrounds including accounting, business, and legal expertise.
TFAA is committed to promoting artistic engagement within communities, irrespective of age, skill level, or background. To achieve this, they provide funding and sponsor various events and programs that seek to create a more vibrant artistic environment. Their efforts also aim to enhance community education by stimulating a greater appreciation for art. This approach benefits both the immediate community and the surrounding areas.
