Plot Synopsis
Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole "being dead thing." Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life.
When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.
Available Roles
Lydia Deetz
Whip-smart, grieving fifteen-year-old whose dark sense of humor helps her cope with the loss of her mother. Unfazed by Beetlejuice's antics and easily holds her own.
Beetlejuice
The dead guy of the hour! Zany, spooky, and absolutely hilarious. More of a trickster than a threat — happy to align interests with others, but ultimately looking out for himself.
Charles Deetz
Lydia's father. Under a lot of pressure between concerns over Lydia, a secret relationship with Delia, his professional life, and his own grief.
Adam Maitland
Devoted husband of Barbara who just can't catch a break. Life's stresses were getting to him — renovation, finances, and the decision about having a child.
Barbara Maitland
A bit more adventurous than Adam. Very kind but strong-willed and a quick thinker. Immediately bonds with Lydia.
Delia Schlimmer
Hopelessly (sometimes maniacally) optimistic. Believes fully in her guru Otho. Genuinely cares about Lydia, even if her attempts to connect are misguided.
Maxie & Maxine Dean
The business tycoon Charles hopes to impress — and his fourth (or fifth) wife.
Sky
A cute girl scout with congenital heart disease. Could die if frightened.
Miss Argentina
Former beauty queen who greets the recently dead in the Netherworld. Leads "What I Know Now."
Otho
Delia's guru and occasional exorcist.
Juno
Beetlejuice's mother. Runs the recently dead intake with an iron fist. "A voice like road tar" and no sympathy for anyone.

Audition Information
🎤 In-Person Auditions
- Fill out the audition form with your information and pick a time slot.
- Arrive on time at the Tiffin Historic Trust.
- Prepare to sing 30–60 seconds of a musical theater style song that is NOT from the show.
- Be prepared to do a cold read from the show during the audition.
Please be prepared to attend in case a callback is necessary.
📹 Video Submissions
- Video submissions accepted at BeetlejuiceDirector@TheTFAA.org until Sunday, June 21st at midnight.
- Record your video standing at full height — we'd like to see your stage presence and characterization.
- Prepare to sing 30–60 seconds of a musical theater style song that is NOT from the show.
- Email BeetlejuiceDirector@TheTFAA.org for an acting side to read and record in your video.

A cast list will be released on the night of June 23rd after all actors have accepted their roles.
